Performance Testing STEC und DataON

dataON™ Performance Testing

Increasing the I/O performance of next-generation data centers and cloud computing environments is essential for supporting enterprise e-commerce, database, and email applications. STEC's ZeusRAM™ and ZeusIOPS® SSDs offer performance and total cost of solution benefits to address these needs.

To prove this point, dataON™ Storage conducted a host of performance tests when ZeusRAM and ZeusIOPS SSDs are used as Write and Read caches, versus similar storage systems that do not use STEC SSDs. As part of the testing process, dataON used the industry-standard IOMeter workload performance test configured to run the SSDs under different real-world workloads including a workstation application (emulating a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) deployment), a file server application and an online transaction processing (OLTP) database application, all running on a NexentaStor-enabled dataON storage system.

The results demonstrated the following:

  • Up to 5x improvement in transactions per second in an MS Exchange application environment
  • Up to 2x improvement in application response time in an MS Exchange application environment
  • Up to 15x the number of users supported in an MS Exchange application environment
  • Up to 5x improvement in performance in workstation (VDI) workloads
  • Up to 8x improvement in OLTP database workloads

The entire dataON Storage performance criteria, testing and results are highlighted in a whitepaper entitled, “Increase Storage Performance up to 5x using STEC ZeusRAM and ZeusIOPS SSDs as Accelerated Write Log and Read Cache.”

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.

Get free downloads for Internet Explorer 7, including recommended updates as they become available. To download Internet Explorer 7 in the language of your choice, please visit the Internet Explorer 7 worldwide page.
